Dawn Reed, president and owner of "Aloha To Senior Solutions", has worked in the Senior and Health & Wellness industries for more than 30 years. She is passionate about assisting families and businesses to better understand the journey of caregiving and aging intricacies through education, support, laughter and effective marketing and communication. The inspiration for "Aloha To Senior Solutions" came from her personal experience; as a child watching her grandmother suffer with Alzheimer's disease, then as an adult assisting her mother through cancer surgery and from her father, the longest living lung cancer survivor, who truly lived and modeled the "Aloha Spirit". She has spent her adult life assisting people of all ages, especially the elderly, to enhance their quality of life. Dawn is a Certified Senior Advisor, CSA (www.csa.us/ProfessionalsYouCanTrust.aspx), holds a Certificate of Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, and is a Certified Laughter Yoga leader (laughter is the best medicine for all ages!). In addition, she has many other certifications and countless CEU hours ranging from Healthy Brain Aging, Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, and Gerontology. Her training and experience allows her to effectively facilitate monthly family caregiver support groups and those support groups specifically designed for early onset dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. Her "Care Coaching" sessions have allowed families to manage their care journey in a more focused and less stressful manner. She enjoys her role as a Consultant, Trainer and Facilitator to assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospices, home care agencies, adult day care centers, faith-based entities ( Mt. Bethel UMC), private businesses and community professionals. Her diverse experience includes: Executive Director and National Trainer for the YMCA, Therapeutic Recreation Director in Skilled Nursing Facilities and volunteer Hospice Care Team Leader. As the Director of a nationally recognized & award winning adult day respite program for 6 years, Dawn recognized the growing need for these services and in 2009 Dawn founded Aloha to Aging, Inc www.alohatoaging.org a non-profit providing: "Aloha Day Club" a therapeutically structured social day respite program for those 55+ who have stopped driving, Wellness, Educational and Simulation programs for the community and volunteer opportunities to Cobb, Cherokee, DeKalb, Fulton and Paulding Counties.
