Business Services

Taking Care of Business

This package is designed to allow Human Resource Departments to “Take Care of Their Employees” by offering on-site education for those employees experiencing the additional responsibilities of aging family members, as well as offering additional understanding and in-sight for those employees nearing retirement.

On Site Support Groups

The average caregiver is a full time employee, who may also be juggling care for their children while additionally caring for an aging loved one. Statistics prove caregiver stress and burnout contribute to decreased productivity in the work place.  On site Caregiver Support Groups allow employers to provide a convenient solution to their employees. Meetings  provide an opportunity for those dealing with family care issues and the special demands of family members with Alzheimers to come together in a supportive atmosphere to address the many challenges they are facing. Meetings are provided monthly on site by a trained facilitator.

Aging Services Seminar

Let us help you meet your employees specific needs by working with you to plan an aging services seminar that meets your employees specific needs. We tailor each seminar to include relatable information and resource options to enable employees to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

Minding the Gap

If your business provides value to the aging population, but you just haven't been able to teach them at the level of success that you wanted, our consulting services package will give you the tools designed to meet your specific needs in the market place. We offer company consultation and employee training to increase business utilization and create better understanding of the needs of the aging consumer mindset.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class

Powerful Tools for Caregivers, developed by Legacy Health Systems, is an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools they need to take care of themselves. This program will help them: reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate their feelings, balance their life and increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful online caregiver tools.

Class leaders must be certified in order to plan and teach a class, so let us train your employees. Certification follows a two and one-half day experiential training by Master Trainers. Upon completing the training, Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes are taught by pairs of trained class leaders and consist of six (6)/ 90-minute sessions held once a week.

Classes are most successful when they are available in local communities and offered on a continuing basis. A very effective marketing tool for businesses to provide to their clients, staff or community at large.

Laughter Yoga

Description of Laughter Yoga
by Sebastien Gendry

Laughter Yoga (Laugh Yoga, Laughing Yoga, Ha ha Yoga, Hasya Yoga) is a combination of simple, empowering and otherwise "tension-releasing" laughter exercises combined with gentle yoga breathing techniques.

Connecting to genuine laughter is of course a desirable outcome, and this is not our primary goal. We use laughter (rapid contractions of the diaphragm) as a form of exercise to flush our lungs (and through it our bloodstream and whole body) with fresh oxygen, strengthen the immune system and boost "happy" chemistry. Simply going through the physical motions of happiness creates the very chemistry of happiness.

These exercises are appropriate and beneficial for all, regardless of their cognitive, sensorial or motor abilities / limitations. We start with artificial forms of laughter and soon reach a crescendo of genuine belly laughter. No tricks, no tickling, no alcohol and no jokes. The laughter comes straight from the heart as pure joy. As one leading personality claims "exercise is for the body, meditation is for the mind, Laughter Yoga is for both. It is a gym for the soul!"

Laughter Yoga is non-political, non religious, non-racial, non-threatening, non-competitive. It comes with no strings attached. There are no jokes or comedy, therefore there is no judging. No mind = no ego, no room for conflict or power struggle. Laughter is a universal language that transcends all barriers: language, age, gender, social or racial background.

The unique concept of Laughter Yoga and Laughter Club is the brain child of Dr. Madan Kataria, a physician from Mumbai, India, and his wife Madhuri Kataria.

"Laughter Yoga Combines laughter with yogic breathing exercises. It is a perfect way to laugh and get exercise at the same time. It approaches laughter as a body exercise so it's easy to laugh even if you're depressed or in a bad mood. Last year I highlighted Laughter Yoga on my TV program. I've tried it, and it works."
